One of the great things about Hatteras is the incredible variety of wind and water conditions accessible here. One can experience flat water, waves, bump and jump, or speed conditions depending on launch site and wind directions - sometimes all in one day!. Any wind speed from 5 to 75 is possible, in fact if you stay long enough you may get them all. This makes for a well-rounded sailing experience, but also presents a challenge to anyone's gear.
