Greetings from the newly elected President,
Well, it just goes to show that sailing skills & intelligence have nothing to do with becoming president of the Panhandle Windsurfing Club. I will do everything in my power to make sure it is very windy every weekend. The honorable Bubba Rockhold is our new treasurer. The cold fronts have started pushing through and there has been some good sailing on the north winds. Break out the wetsuits, get up at the crack of dawn and get out there! When a front goes through you can usually find someone to sail with at Taco Bell in Gulf Breeze or Quietwater Beach. The Soundside BBQ on Oct. 10th was great! Outgoing Prez Jeannie Bauman & First Man Jim cooked up some awesome chicken kabobs.Our appreciation also goes out to them for their solid support of the club.during the last year. November 17th is the Turkey Regatta at Key Sailing. Besides having a chance at international stardom, all paid entrants ($10.00 pay at the door)get a turkey! This is an important qualifying event for the World Cup Championship so be there. Skippers meeting @ 10:00am @ Key Sailing, 500 Quietwater Beach Rd., 932-5520. We still need more support to pay the bills, 932-9778. For 6 cents a day, you can call for accurate windspeed with averages for the past hour as well. The cost is only $20 a year.
