Learn to Windsurf Right!

Windsurfing is fun. You can do it almost anywhere there is water. It's easy to learn if you have the right stuff. What's the right stuff? Protected water, appropriate beginner equipment, and most important -a professional instructor. A good windsurfing teacher not only knows how to windsurf, but has been trained to teach others. Look for a school with a National certification. Most lessons begin on a land simulator, then move to the water. Expect to spend 2 to 4 hours on the basics, and the rest of your life having fun.

There are many good places to windsurf in the southeast. The map above will help you locate one, or click all to start at the top of the list. If you already know how to windsurf, keep in mind that most of these schools also offer advanced lessons for skills like gybes, jumps, and water-starts, etc.
